I've used google and multimaps, at times even streetmap but they don't seem to give me details I want, like how to avoid congestion charging areas, nearest route etc.

It provides a map as well as step by step directions etc. Its like having a SatNav (which I would actually recommend investing in if you intend travel around unfamiliar or distant places)
