How do I get my site to show up on Google search? I have added it to the URL on google.?

I've followed directions exactly and yet even when I type the exact name of my company's site and put it quotes it still doesn't show up. I heard that google takes 1yr for it to get into search engine?

Thanks.

Hi,

To get your site cataloged in Google, do the following:

1) Go to http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/鈥?/a>

2) Put in your site URL and follow any other instructions.

3) Create a Google Account (does not have to be Gmail, but just a regular account). (I can help you with this if you need help, just email me).

4) On the Google homepage, at the bottom of the screen, click on "About Google". Then click "Webmaster Central", "Webmaster Tools" and add your site by following the on-screen instructions.

5) After adding your site, click on the "Sitemaps" tab around the top of the page.

6) Click "Add a Sitemap".

7) You will need to create a site map for optimized search results. If you do not know how to, click the little blue question on the page that opened after you did step 6.

8) Submit you site map to Google by doing step 6.

9) Try to get as many other sites as you can linking to your site. The more sites link to your site, the greater your chance will be of having a better placement.

By the way, I have never heard the one year thing, and it is most probably a myth.

You do not need to put it in quotes, but if you want to find your site, try entering site:www.____.com. That usually works.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

you need to find someone who works for a computer marketing firm. The people that troubleshoot software issues. They know how to get it to ping on first hit. Sometimes your internet provider can tell you. Tech depart?
