When were the "satellite" images recorded on google maps?

i have just done a "get directions to" on google and i clicked on the satellite images, and it does not look like the place i need to go to, it's all nice, green, lots of trees and hardly any cars! was this image taken in the 70's????When were the "satellite" images recorded on google maps?

The images are not that old. Most of the satellite images used on Google are between 1 and three years old, but in various forums people have reported that some of he images are nearly 10 years old.When were the "satellite" images recorded on google maps?
it was taken sometime in 2007 i believe. Probably wrong place...I also know that they are a little off, so they might bring you to a place about a mile or two away...When were the "satellite" images recorded on google maps?
i think its a little old. i found my house on google earth and it looked completely different but it was definitly my house
